Django Ninja for API Development: Lessons from Energy Market
2024-11-14 , Auditorium

In this talk, we will dive into how Django Ninja has transformed the way we develop APIs for the energy industry, focusing on practical insights and real-world examples. Working with Swedish energy companies, we face the challenge of building fast, scalable, and reliable solutions for complex systems. Django Ninja has been a great framework for building robust APIs due to its simplicity, flexibility, and performance.

We'll explore:
Why Django Ninja: How its speed, built-in validation, and type hints help with fast API development.
How We Use It: A closer look a typical structure of a project, API design patterns, and how can we leverage Django Ninja to create efficient services.
Real-World Impact: Key benefits we've experienced using Django Ninja (such as reduced development time, cleaner code, and enhanced maintainability, especially in an environment where data integration and automation are critical).

I am a self-taught backend developer with interest for electronics Currently, I work at Helicon, where we develop software solutions for Swedish energy companies.

My journey into programming began with a desire to pursue a PhD and research how seemingly unsustainable technologies, like blockchain, could be applied to sustainability efforts. As I dived into the technical details of blockchain, I found myself stumbled by lots of coding examples and thus I decided to start learning programming. It took me a while but this sparked my interest in programming. From there, I shifted my focus to becoming a developer instead, and I’ve never looked back since!

In addition to my work at Helicon, I am an active member of PyLadies Stockholm, a community of women who code in Python, where I am aimed to continue sharing my knowledge and learn from others.

I am a Backend Engineer specializing in Software Engineering, currently working at Helicon Technologies. I previously co-organized PyLadies São Paulo and Django Girls São Paulo, and I now co-organize PyLadies Stockholm where I focus on empowering women in tech and fostering the growth of the Python community, driven by my passion for learning and sharing knowledge.
