Call for Speakers @ PyLadiesCon 2024

Speak at PyLadiesCon

Be part of this second edition conference designed to promote diversity, learning, and empowerment within the Python community.

We welcome presenters from members and supporters of PyLadies Community, no prior experience is needed.

As we are a global community, we welcome talks in the following languages: English, Español, Português, Deutsch, 日本語 and 中文.

Conference information

PyLadiesCon will take place online, December 6th - 8th, 2024. We will be hosting the talks at different timezones to be inclusive of our global community. There will be no cost to attend the conference.

Each talk will be 20 minutes long: 15 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of Q&A.

Talk Format

Talks will be pre-recorded and live-streamed using Discord during the conference.

We ask that you attend the conference during your scheduled streaming time to engage with the attendees and to answer any questions.

The recorded talk should be 15 minutes max.

We are also open to non-traditional talk formats, such as short films or TikTok-style content. We encourage you to be creative!

Speaker Support

If you’re interested in giving a talk, but worried that your recording equipment may not be adequate, or if you’re not familiar with video recording technologies, don’t worry! We will have support and resources for you. We have recording equipment grants available, and we will be publishing additional information. If you need additional support to produce your video, please contact us: pyladiescon@pyladies.com

Talk Topics

We welcome any topic that will be of interest to PyLadies members and will further the mission of PyLadies.

Some examples are, but not limited to:

  • Leadership skills

Your talk must follow our Code of Conduct.

Important dates

The call for proposals will close on September 15, 2024 Anywhere on Earth.
We aim to announce selected speakers by October 8, 2024. If accepted, your video must be submitted by November 15, 2024.

We are an international mentorship group with a focus on helping more women become active participants and leaders in the Python open-source community. Our mission is to promote, educate and advance a diverse Python community through outreach, education, conferences, events and social gatherings.

PyLadies also aims to provide a friendly support network for women and a bridge to the larger Python world. Anyone with an interest in Python is encouraged to participate!
