As a passionate advocate for women in tech, Aji Fama has led the Women Techmakers Banjul chapter for the past four years, empowering women and girls through mentorship, resources, and visibility. They have facilitated key sessions at international conferences, including IGF Gambia and Europe, and have been an international speaker at the Google Sub-Saharan Africa Summit.

Aji Fama is actively involved in the Policy Network on AI Governance, focusing on AI liability and its societal impacts, and has consulted with UNESCO on Freedom of Expression Guidelines. Karen was a database administrator for over 20 years and was once described as “quite personable for a DBA”, which she decided to take as a compliment! She’s now a Senior Solutions Architect, helping her customers to design and manage their (PostgreSQL) database environments.

Karen gives talks about databases at PostgreSQL and developer conferences because she loves sharing knowledge. She is also on the PostgreSQL Europe board and helps to organise various PostgreSQL community events.

Además, su compromiso con la democratización del conocimiento en tecnología, especialmente en inteligencia artificial, se refleja en su exitoso podcast “Programa Conversaciones para Transformar". Siendo galardonada como una de las "100 Mujeres Líderes" en Chile 2019 y 2020, y como Mujer Líder de las
Américas 2022 en España.

Valeria Cerpa Salas

Valeria Cerpa es desarrolladora de software de Perú y activista por las tecnologías climáticas. Actualmente colabora con Autana Factory, fue ganadora de los Pass It On Awards de AnitaB.org este 2024 y es becaria de GHC 24' y 23´. En el año 2021, fundó "Datos para Espacios Resilientes", el primer proyecto 100% digital del Fellowship Resilience Fund, lo que le permitió trabajar en la generación de mapas interactivos sobre planificación urbana.
Además, Valeria participó en el desarrollo de "Planning 2050", un proyecto web peruano-americano, que promueve compromisos sostenibles para ciudades desde instituciones públicas. Anteriormente, fue becaria de US Green Building Council en Washington DC, Harvard WECode 21' y participó en el podcast de Women Who Code (WWCode) y como speaker en una conferencia tech en Medellín el año pasado. Su experiencia le ha permitido colaborar con organizaciones de Chile, Estados Unidos, Países Bajos, Suiza y Perú.
