  depending on outbreak severity\, funding available\, and even sociopoliti
 cal context. \n\nComputational modelling is a highly effective tool to exa
 mine the potential impact of different public health interventions. Howeve
 r\, the technical difficulty of building fit-for-purpose models that can s
 imulate these impacts is a barrier to widespread use.\n\nAtomica is an ope
 n-source Python-based simulation engine for compartmental modelling. It pr
 ovides an easy-to-use yet highly configurable way to build disease models\
 , with inbuilt support for public health interventions. By leveraging popu
 lation\, transmission\, and public health intervention data\, we can forec
 ast the potential consequences of different public health strategies in sp
 ecific countries or settings\, helping governments to make the best possib
 le decisions on what to prioritise.\n\nWhether you’re a beginner or an e
 xpert Pythonista\, this talk will equip you with the tools to simulate a r
 eal-world epidemic and project its future impact.
