Heya 👋! Just like you I've spent time plenty of time dabbling with computers.

What got myself into programming was discovering how to modify a game called Little Fighter 2, and it was fun. After working with computers for a substantial period, I began learning to connect and communicate better with people, and try to put the fun back into what we do for work.

My ever growing list of "beginner hobbies" include running, art, sewing, and piano.

SHORT:
Haskell by day, Rust by night. Guiding newcomers through the rugged terrain of Rust, one line at a time.

LONG:
Paweł Szulc is a seasoned developer with a rich background in functional programming languages, including Scala and Haskell. Known in the developer community as "EncodePanda," Paweł is passionate about exploring complex software design patterns and bridging the gap between practicality and expressiveness in code.

Recently, Paweł has expanded his expertise to include Rust, intrigued by its powerful system-level programming capabilities and the language’s emphasis on memory safety without sacrificing performance. His transition to Rust aligns well with his interest in leveraging expressive type systems to write robust, efficient software.

Meghan Clark

Dr. Meghan Clark is a Principal Scientist, IoT Systems at Resideo Technologies, Inc. She has worked for over a decade on improving interactions with the built environment. Previously, she was a postdoctoral fellow at University of California, Berkeley, where she worked on novel methods for capturing and visualizing wireless network traffic. Before that she completed her PhD in computer science from University of California, Berkeley with a focus on smart buildings. She received a Masters in computer science and engineering (and an unofficial degree in hacking things) at University of Michigan. Her initial exposure to embedded systems and networking work was at the Army Research Laboratory's Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate, where she developed an interoperability protocol for converting proprietary sensors into plug-and-play devices, enabling rapid deployment of early-warning systems. Her work has earned several awards, including the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, the Microsoft Graduate Women’s Scholarship, and the Rackham Merit Fellowship. Her work on mixed reality network inspection won Best Poster Award from ACM MobiCom 2022 and David Wessel Best Demo Award from CONIX 2019.
