SIPS 2025 Budapest
Submission Portal
Submit a proposal to lead a session at the Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science (SIPS) 2025 meeting in Budapest, Hungary. The in-person event will span three days, from June 25 to June 27, and include hackathons, workshops, presentations, and discussions aimed at advancing psychological science.
This call will close on Friday, January 31st, 2025. If you would like to lead a session during the online portion of SIPS, please use the designated submission platform, https://pretalx.com/sips2025-online/.
To encourage broader participation and give more people a chance to shape the program, each person may lead only one workshop, hackathon, or unconference per event (that is, one for the online and one for the in-person conference). However, presenters can still be listed as contributors on multiple submissions. While submitting the same session for both the online and in-person events is allowed, we encourage thoughtful differentiation rather than simply copying and pasting content. Consider how your sessions can complement each other to enhance the unique character of each event. For example, you might propose an unconference for the online event and follow it with a hackathon at the in-person event. This approach fosters synergy between the two conferences, making each one engaging and valuable.
Session types (see SIPS Guide for more on session types):
- Workshop: Guided instruction and training of a specific skill;
- Hackathon: Collaborative work on a well-defined task with a clear end goal;
- Unconference: "Free" session to pitch & discuss ideas;
- Lightning talks: A 5-minute talk can cover any topic under the broad umbrella of "improving psychological science," such as providing feedback on a study, pitching ideas, or summarizing a recently held session, among other things. Be mindful of keeping your topic concise, as you only have 5 minutes to present.
- Roundtables: an opportunity for any affinity group to meet to connect with one another.
The official language of the conference is English.
This form is only for submitting a proposal to the conference. Regardless of whether or not your proposal is accepted, if you will be attending the conference, you must register for this separately once conference registration opens (http://improvingpsych.org/SIPS2025, estimated date: January 1st, 2025).
If you have any questions, please contact Ekaterina Pronizius (ekaterina.pronizius@univie.ac.at).
You can enter proposals until 2025-01-31 00:00 (Europe/Budapest), 1 month, 1 week from now.
