DESCRIPTION:The integration of refugees presents complex challenges\, parti
 cularly in non-WEIRD contexts. This talk examines the practical and ethica
 l challenges of researching Ukrainian refugee integration in secondary cit
 ies of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)\, including Košice\, Miskolc\, Po
 znań\, Kraków\, Brno\, and Uzhhorod. These cities are transitioning from
  historically migrant-sending regions to more permanent refugee destinatio
 ns.\n\nResearching in non-WEIRD settings\, especially with vulnerable popu
 lations\, requires a context-sensitive approach. In regions with limited i
 nstitutional oversight\, safeguarding welfare\, obtaining informed consent
 \, and ensuring confidentiality are critical. The study highlights the imp
 ortance of considering local cultural norms and resource limitations.\n\nT
 he talk also emphasizes the need to involve refugees as active collaborato
 rs\, ensuring their voices inform meaningful change.\n\nKeywords: Ukrainia
