DESCRIPTION:2024 has again been the hottest year on record\, with average g
lobal temperatures exceeding 1.5°C. We know that climate change is human-
made. Increasingly researchers are looking at their own (professional) beh
aviour and its environmental impact.\n\nIn this session\, we quickly prese
nt estimates on CO2 emissions from a specific conference. Together with th
e audience\, we will discuss:\n1)	Their personal reaction to data on acade
mic’s (travel)behaviour and environmental impact \n2)	Concrete intervent
ion approaches to raise scientists’ awareness and act upon their green c
onscience.\n3)	Levers for scientific societies and future psychological co
nference organizers to decrease our collective environmental impact\n\nWe
welcome ideas on how to tackle academic environmental impact. If you would
like to pitch ideas with slides just drop us an email: lisa.warner@medica
lschool-berlin.de (some days before).\n\nLet’s create a hive mind on how
to make psychological academia more pro-environmental!
