DESCRIPTION:The next generation of researchers and consumers of science mus
t be equipped with knowledge of open and reproducible research to maintain
and further scientific standards. Thus\, educators and mentors must be ab
le to provide a strong foundation in Open Science training. \nTo facilitat
e this\, a team at the Framework for Open and Reproducible Research Traini
 ng (FORRT) is designing a pedagogically-informed\, evidence-based\, self-g
uided program to support the teaching of Open Science. Three modules for e
ducators interested in teaching Open Science are being developed through a
  1) positive\, 2) participatory\, and 3) inclusive lens.\nOur goal is to d
evelop this program in close consultation with the community involved in O
 pen Science. In this session\, we would like to i) present this program\;
ii) discuss areas for improvement\; and iii) identify opportunities to amp
lify its reach to educators in different academic fields.

DESCRIPTION:The FORRT community has prepared 200+ summaries of Open and Rep
roducible Science literature. The purpose of these summaries is to reduce
some of the burden on educators looking to incorporate open and reproducib
le research principles into their teaching as well as facilitate the edifi
cation of anyone wishing to learn or disseminate open and reproducible sci
ence tenets. In this hackathon\, we invite you to review the summaries\, i
.e.\, checking that the content of the summary faithfully represents the o
riginal article and improving the text to your best capacity. Contributors
will be acknowledged on the website and those who fulfil our requirements
(i.e.\, 10 reviews) will be invited to co-author any resulting manuscript
 s. The summaries will serve as a valuable resource for those with limited
time or access\, promoting educational equity.
