DESCRIPTION:Research on neurodiversity has immense potential to improve our
understanding of neurodevelopmental clinical conditions (e.g.\, autism\,
ADHD\, dyslexia) while also making wider contributions to equality\, diver
sity\, and inclusion research and practices. However\, research on neurodi
versity\, especially in the field of psychology\, has considerable room fo
r improvement. There is an urgent need to: 1) refine theoretical framework
s born out of the neurodiversity concept (e.g.\, Double Empathy\; Livingst
 on\, Hargitai\, & Shah\, 2024\, Psychol. Rev.)\, 2) promote the widespread
adoption of open science practices (e.g.\, replications and extensions\,
Leung et al.\, 2024\, Autism\; open data and open code\, Waldren et al.\,
2024\, Cortex)\, and 3) increase interdisciplinary collaborations to driv
e meaningful progression in the field (e.g.\, Layinka et al.\, 2024\, eLif
e). Drawing on our own research\, and work submitted to the international
journal\, Neurodiversity\, we will host a roundtable on the current state
and potential future of neurodiversity research.
