DESCRIPTION:Diversity\, equity\, and inclusion are essential principles tha
 t shape policies and codes of conduct aimed at fostering fairness and just
 ice. However\, conventional measures of diversity often rely on limited va
 riables such as nationality\, geographic location\, race\, or gender\, whi
 ch overlook hidden disparities and confounding factors. This hackathon ser
 ves as the first step in a broader BTS project aimed at comprehensively do
 cumenting diversity and inequity in academia.\nParticipants will begin by 
 identifying and exploring variables beyond traditional measures\, includin
 g income levels\, access to facilities\, research support\, grant opportun
 ities\, teaching loads\, and publication fee agreements. The group will th
 en collaboratively discuss methodologies for data collection. The event wi
 ll conclude with the formation of working teams and commitments to ensure 
 progress. The final objective is to launch a global survey with an ultimat
 e publication goal\, that would contribute to create a more comprehensive 
 framework for assessing diversity and inequity in academic settings.
