What's "Good"? Adapting a Bias Detection Tool to help Identify Quality in Psychology Research
Simine Vazire, matt makel
We want to create a tool that helps psychologists assess research quality. This could be for their own purposes or to make decisions like what to include in a systematic review. To start this hackathon, we introduce two existing tools, the Risk of Bias 2 (RoB2) from clinical trials and Seaboat, a psychology checklist for study quality. Once attendees are up to speed, we will: 1. assess whether it is worthwhile to merge the two measures into a new/adapted tool that assesses risk of bias in psychology. If yes, 2a. We hack. If no, 2b. Figure out something more useful that would help psychologists assess factors such as risk of bias and/or research quality.
