State of the Map Africa 2021 Call for Proposals

We invite you to submit proposals to give a talk at the State of the Map Africa 2021.

The State of the Map Africa (SotM Africa) is an annual conference that celebrates the culture of open mapping, open data, GIS, and its impact across Africa. Following the success of the last edition in Grand Bassam, Ivory Coast, this year's event will build on a new strategy envisioned for Openstreetmap Africa as a renewed, strong, and growing network, and as part of the global open mapping movement.

With the theme “Leaving no one behind: Emerging from a global pandemic”, the SotM Africa 2021 looks forward to making a contribution to humanity and the open mapping community by showcasing the innovations, approaches, and human-adaptations in a Covid-19 era. This is our chance to inspire the next generation of mappers, data scientists, and citizen scientists to architect the further development and expansion of the open mapping community.

Before you proceed, kindly take a look at our Code of Conduct which is available here. SotM Africa is dedicated to providing a positive conference experience for all attendees, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or national and ethnic origin. We encourage respectful and considerate interactions between attendees and do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form.
