Version 0.3.0 Sept. 2, 2025
We released a new schedule version! Unfortunately, we've had to cancel two sessions. Some sessions also had to be moved around for organizational reasons. Please note that this is still a draft, we will likely have to move around some more sessions (between time slots and rooms), but it should give a good insight into what to expect from SotM 2025. Also note that OSM Science, which is currently planned to take place on Friday, has a separate schedule, so those sessions are not included here.
Sadly, we had to cancel sessions:
- “SotM LATAM: How different from the global SotM it is?” by Juan Arellano Valdivia, Catalina Restrepo Martínez
- “Why settle? Make Every Door do what you want” by Ilya Zverev
We had to move some sessions, so if you were planning on seeing them, check their new dates or locations:
- “Managing Remote Mapping Projects in the HOT Tasking Manager” by Dinar Adiatma (Oct. 4, 2025, 4:30 p.m. → Oct. 4, 2025, 11:30 a.m.)
- “Resilience Starts with a Map: Community-Led OSM Action in Dhaka’s Climate-Vulnerable Settlements” by Faiza Waziha (Oct. 4, 2025, 5:30 p.m. → Oct. 4, 2025, 4:30 p.m.)
- “Local First in a Diverse Democracy: India’s Decentralized Path to Hosting the First Regional SotM” by ark Arjun (Oct. 4, 2025, 4:30 p.m. → Oct. 4, 2025, 5 p.m.)
- “OSM Swiss Style and the new OSM Swiss Base Map” by Stefan Keller (Oct. 4, 2025, 5:30 p.m. → Oct. 4, 2025, 5 p.m.)
- “How to Complete Japan’s Building Mapping in One Year? Strategies for Integrating PLATEAU Data into OSM” by Taichi Furuhashi (Oct. 4, 2025, 5 p.m. → Oct. 4, 2025, 11:30 a.m.)
Version 0.2.0 Aug. 8, 2025
We released a new schedule version! Three separate sessions have been merged into a panel, and we're starting a bit earlier on Friday. Some sessions also had to be moved around for organizational reasons. Please note that this is still a draft, we will likely have to move around some more sessions (between time slots and rooms), but it should already give a good insight into what to expect from SotM 2025. Also note that OSM Science, which is currently planned to take place on Friday, has a separate schedule, so those sessions are not included here.
We have a new session: “How we got here: three mapper stories” by Walter Mayeku, Bayazid Ahmed, KASOZI DENIS, Prativa Thapa.
Sadly, we had to cancel sessions:
- “Navigating the World Through OpenStreetMap: The Story of Bayazid Ahmed” by Bayazid Ahmed
- “Women Who Map: My Mission to Build Inclusive Mapping Communities in Nepal” by Prativa Thapa
- “Mapping My Way Forward: How OSM and YouthMappers Launched My Career in Geospatial Tech.” by KASOZI DENIS
We had to move some sessions, so if you were planning on seeing them, check their new dates or locations:
- “Addressing Participation Gaps in Nepal’s OSM Ecosystem: Strategies for Long-Term Community Retention” by Dibikshya Shrestha (Oct. 3, 2025, 4:30 p.m. → Oct. 3, 2025, 5 p.m.)
- “Opening” by SotM Working Group (Oct. 3, 2025, 9:30 a.m. → Oct. 3, 2025, 9 a.m.)
- “Journey to the Center of the Planet” by Minh Nguyễn (Oct. 3, 2025, 5 p.m. → Oct. 3, 2025, 4:30 p.m.)
Version 0.1.0 July 2, 2025
We released our first schedule! Please note that this is still a draft, we will likely have to move around some sessions (between time slots and rooms), but it should already give a good first insight into what to expect from SotM 2025. Also note that OSM Science, which is currently planned to take place on Friday, has a separate schedule, so those sessions are not included here.
