MapLibre - from data to rendering, in one status update
Yuri Astrakhan, Frank Elsinga

MapLibre has became one of the critical pillars of open source mapping, including map data transformations, formats, rendering, and interaction on all platforms. You see MapLibre everywhere, from small web sites to giants like Microsoft Bing Maps, from hobby phone apps to the giants like Lyft. New MLT tile format allows smaller faster tiles with new features in 2D and 3D space replacing legacy MVT format. Martin tile server has became the fastest tile server with numerous supported backends, formats, and features. This status update will cover all this and more.

From Bits to Pixels: Introduction to Map Making with OSM Data and MapLibre
Bart Louwers, Yuri Astrakhan

Publishing a map on a website can seem like a daunting task. It does not have to be! In this workshop you will learn everything you need to know to publish a map that uses OpenStreetMap on a website.

You will get an overview of all the concepts involved as well as the tools that are available to you (e.g. vector tiles, tile archive formats such as PMTiles, MapLibre styles, Maputnik). As a bonus, you will learn how you can create your own vector tiles from raw OSM data using Planetiler.
