DESCRIPTION:As a follow-up of the European Cycling Declaration\, DG MOVE re
quested the European standardisation body CEN to pave the way for the stan
dardisation of the digital description of cycling infrastructure.\nTaking
a new approach to CEN standardisation\, the experts group behind the Cycli
nfra project decided to build from the existing. Their first playground: O
penStreetMap and its data on cycling infrastructure and cycle parking. The
y explored and extracted the data from OSM to conduct research on European
baseline for cycling infrastructure. \nConsidering that a large amount of
European cities use OpenStreetMap and open-source tools weaved into it fo
r their GIS data\, it would only be logic that the future CEN standards ar
e strongly interoperable with OSM and its most frequently used tags for cy
cling.\nIn this session\, we will present the Cyclinfra project\, its meth
odology\, how OSM will be used to build CEN standards\, and how you can co
 ntribute!
