The availability of road network data at scale in OSM has fueled a solid ecosystem of open-source projects dedicated to route planning: OSRM, Openrouteservice, Valhalla, GraphHopper, Jsprit, Vroom to just name a few.
This talk aims at providing an overview of the main routing and route optimization engines that are both open-source and self-hostable: digging into their respective features as well as differences and the implementation trade-offs that make them more suitable for certain use-cases.
