The Iddy Chazua Memorial Session is a dedicated commemorative and reflective session honoring the life, contributions, and legacy of Iddy within the OpenStreetMap and open mapping community in Tanzania, Africa and beyond. The session brings together colleagues, collaborators, and community members to celebrate his role as a mentor, community builder, and advocate for open mapping, innovation and other GIS initiatives.

The session will provide space for sharing experiences, stories, and lessons drawn from his work, highlighting the impact of his contributions on capacity building, youth engagement, and the advancement of open geotech.

Beyond remembrance, the session serves as a forward-looking dialogue on sustaining his vision by empowering emerging mappers, strengthening local communities, and promoting inclusive tech and collaborative mapping practices across Africa.
