It's been a big year for RISC-V and Linux: we have new fast hardware, drivers, and bugs! This talk is meant to give an overview of the state of the ecosystem and community. I want to go over big releases of this year (RVA23 hardware, Fedora 44 images and the Omni Kernel) and how you can learn more, engage with the ecosystem, and contribute back. While there is a lot going on in the RISC-V universe, this will focus on Linux capable hardware and that broader ecosystem. There is a lot to share and I also want to learn what the audience thinks are high priority issues that we can tackle together. The beginning of this talk will be brief, and the remainder will be much more interactive with audience polls and questions.
Carl is a RISC-V true believer and one of the founding members of the Works with RISC-V ecosystem project. He's also been in the Linux community for over 30 years at this point, so please treat him like the Elder Millennial he is :D
