Call for Proposals – Wagtail Space 2025

If you think you’ve got a story worth sharing about Wagtail—whether you’re a developer, content creator, project lead, or business decision‑maker—we want to hear from you! Unsure if your idea fits? When in doubt, submit your talk 😉!

There is only one session format currently: 25 minute talks (20min + 5min for Q&A). If you are interested in another format please let us know. If you would like to present your talk live, the talks will be presented on 8 October and 9 October from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM GST+1 (check your time zone) each day. If that schedule really doesn't work for your time zone, you can also choose to submit a proposal for a recorded talk.

(Note: No selling or commercial promotion—this is about sharing knowledge, not ads.)

Selection process

We are aiming for a balanced, inclusive lineup:

  • Content editors, authors, designers, and managers
  • Business leaders, decision‑makers, and tech advocates
  • Experienced Wagtailers & newcomers
  • Contributions from diverse geographies and backgrounds are especially encouraged

We have two conference days reserved for talks, over 4 hours of main talks per day, plus lightning talks. For the main talks, we are aiming to include:

  • Keynotes selected by us. We're very much open to suggestions, so contact us if there is anybody you'd like to see or hear as a keynote speaker!
  • Project presentations. These talks show ways and areas in which Wagtail may be used.
  • Community talks. Showing the struggles we face as a community and as individuals, demonstrating personal growth, or problems still to be resolved.
  • Talks about Wagtail or working with Wagtail. We're looking for several talks in this category that can serve attendees at different experience levels, ranging from newcomers to advanced Wagtail users.

If your talk idea does not match any of these categories, or matches more than one – don't worry! This is not a strict list that every submission needs to fit in, it is just meant as a guide for attendees, submitters, and reviewers alike.

Selection criteria

We’re looking for:

  • Relevance to Wagtail users / the Wagtail community
  • Clear stories and actionable takeaways
  • Content for experienced Wagtail devs, and also for newcomers
  • Well-rounded representation of topics and communities
  • Fresh insights, novel use cases, or inspirational stories

If in doubt, give it a go or reach out on the Wagtail Slack workspace!

You can enter proposals until 2025-08-15 23:59 (UTC), 3 weeks, 6 days from now.
