WikidataCon 2025
WikidataCon is back! This flagship online conference dedicated to Wikidata and its community returns for 2025. With this year's theme "Connecting People Through Linked Open Data", we're bringing together contributors, reusers, tool-makers and data enthusiasts in a celebration of collaboration.
We want to hear from you!
Whether you're deep into data modelling, documenting lexicographical data, or building bridges across communities, now’s your chance to be part of the programme: the Call for Proposals is open!
Drafting the first Program:
Accepted sessions will be scheduled into a first Program. Speakers, please check your mail for an acceptance mail and click the link inside to see your assigned timeslot. If this isn't suitable, write to us and we will do our best to find a suitable alternative.
It is necessary to confirm your session by clicking the link inside the mail and following the instructions.
Review Proposals:
After the Call for Proposals ends, we will review submissions for a period of approx. 2 weeks using pretalx's built-in review system. Accepted speakers will be contacted via mail and asked to confirm their session attendance.
Call for Proposals:
We are offering a variety of session formats, please remember this includes the speaker-introduction and a Q&A-round
- Lightning Talk (15 mins or less)
- Presentation (Live or Recorded, 30 mins)
- Workshop (45 mins)
- Panel (45 mins)
Call for Proposals Topics:
- The Future of Wikidata What comes next? The tech, the infrastructure, modelling, and ideas. We're talking AI, LLMs, Blazegraph, emerging technologies and anything else you can think of that will shape the future of Wikidata.
- Lexemes and Languages Lexemes, lexicographical data and anything related
- Linked Open Data Ecosystem Topics about Wikibase in any of its forms, connecting Wikibase instances to each other or to Wikidata, Federation and the broader LOD Ecosystem
- Reuse and Data Partnerships Data Reuse, the REST API, non-Wiki institutions or individuals using Wikidata's data, GLAM showcase.
- Providing the World with High Quality Data Obtaining and maintaining good data for WikiProjects, Data Quality & Data Modelling, dealing with vandalism, improvements in bot processes.
- Other Want to talk about something that doesn't really fit elsewhere? Pick this track and we'll either find a place for it or let it stand on its own merits.

- All proposals adhere to the Wikimedia Universal Code of Conduct.
- All presentations will be recorded, live-streamed, and made available online, with a CC-BY license after the event. By submitting your talk, you agree to license your content under a CC-BY SA license.
