How to accessible usability for neurodivergent people?
2025-10-15 , Hall 1A

Scientifically, it is assumed that 15-20% of the population is neurodivergent. These include AD(H)D, autism, dyscalculia or dyslexia and many more. In view of this, the question arises: How can we design accessibility for this considerable number of potential users?

Alide von Bornhaupt can say from her own experience: It definitely makes a difference. For example, while the accessibility standards list high-contrast colors, a neurodivergent person can be visually overstimulated by strong contrasts. But how do you deal with it when different accessibility methods contradict each other?

In her talk, participants will learn about various aspects of how to design user-friendly for neurodivergent people, what needs to be taken into account and examples of how to deal with it.
