Somewhat generic solution (proof of concept) for an OEM's customer to flash their products in their premises
As an OEM, you probably have stock of your products but your customers generally want something tailored to their needs. You could flash an image they provide you but this is cumbersome for you (need to reflash products in your stock, need to keep track of versions or images the customer want to flash on which product order, ...) or maybe the customer doesn't want to give you their image (e.g. so they control the supply chain themselves).
Ideally, you would have a minimal generic system flashed on your product that allows customers to flash their image in their premises where they can do additional tests or control what to flash.
This is a presentation of the proof of concept of a solution Quentin came up with to make this work with Rockchip-based products as well as some of research and development phase stories.
Quentin is an embedded Linux and Linux kernel engineer mainly working in BSP development and maintenance.
He has presented multiple talks at Embedded Linux Conferences and has contributed mainly to the Linux kernel, U-Boot bootloader and Yocto Project documentation.
His experience with Yocto Project goes from trainer, BSP maintenance, support on IRC to contributions to the documentation.
