A workshop organized by a community from Indonesia discussing the collaboration between technology, youth, and the global network in environment protection. It will focus on bringing together two important groups in forest conservation: the indigenous group as the guardian of the forest, sharing its current problems and challenges; and the youth group with special concern on environmental issues. By joining forces hopefully there will be a solution to the problem faced in preserving the forest.

Artanti Wardhani is the program coordinator and communication focal point at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Indonesia Office. This workshop is jointly hosted with Rumah Karya Indonesia (RKI) or Indonesia House of Creation. Established out of passion for local wisdom in Indonesia, particularly in North Sumatra and youth movement, RKI primarily produces and manages local art performance and additionally holds dialogue on social and environment issues in the community.
Riche Rahma Dewita is an anthropologist facilitating several indigenous communities; engaging stakeholder such as RFcX who received support from google and Huawei to design a technology of sound detector to prevent illegal lodging in the forest of Sumatra.
Tumpak Winmark Hutabarat is the programme manager at Rumah Karya Indonesia (RKI) and the Director of 1000 Tents of Toba Caldera Festival. He a creative worker and focuses his activities on social entrepreneurship with creative communities.
Mardiyah Chamim is a writer and journalist. She recently published a book in Indonesian languange about guarding the last forest (Menjaga Rimba Terakhir) about stories from the indigenous community in Sumatra in caring and guarding their forests.
