This talk guides parents in becoming true stewards of their child’s education, whether through homeschooling, private, or public schooling, by emphasizing sovereignty in every choice. By weaving together foundational knowledge of money, the transformative potential of Bitcoin, and practical educational strategies, Ownschooling provides a blueprint for families to foster independence, critical thinking, and curiosity in their children.
Deanna Heikkinen is an American educator and homeschool advocate with a doctorate in education and master’s degrees in history and anthropology. A longtime proponent of liberty-minded, classical education, Deanna has also been engaged with the Bitcoin movement for many years. She is the author of "Shells to Satoshi: The Story of Money and the Rise of Bitcoin," which explores the evolution of money and Bitcoin from both historical and anthropological perspectives. Deanna is writing children’s books on these subjects as well. Since moving to El Salvador in 2023 to live on a Bitcoin standard, she has consulted with Bitcoin Beach, helping to launch the first Bitcoin Circular Economy Summit and developing the ABCs of Bitcoin curriculum. of how circular economies advance Bitcoin adoption and individual sovereignty worldwide.
