Andy Chambers
Andy Chambers is a Canadian-born Production Designer who traded the world of TV commercials in Vancouver for the waves, warmth, and creative spirit of El Salvador’s coast. After his first visit in 2014, he was hooked—and by 2020, El Zonte had become home.
Since settling there, Andy has poured his energy into community-driven projects including Ecoriders (an electric dirt bike adventure company), Mike Peterson’s Bitcoin Podcast, and a small, joyful "kiddie school". His latest creation, Playa Vida Learning, is a bilingual, project-based school and community hub designed for families who value creativity, connection, and conscious living.

Playa Vida Learning
Sesión
Opened in El Zonte in September 2025, Playa Vida Learning is the first and only full-curriculum education center on the surf-rich coast. It’s a boutique, adaptive learning experience where children gain entrepreneurial, real-life skills through meaningful, hands-on learning. Phase 1 began as a small pilot project serving early families and has since grown into a popular learning center where students ages 4–15 explore academics, art, nature, and practical life through project-based learning. For example, their 7-year-olds recently published a book; they have Ninja class, robotics, astronomy, and of course, they already know the difference between fiat and Bitcoin. The adaptive, curated curriculum at Playa Vida Learning can be boiled down to one question: Am I teachable?
Phase 2 is the next step - Playa Vida Learning is fundraising to build a purpose-built campus for more than 75 students. Finally, a school on the coast with room to grow!
