Deanna Heikkinen is an American educator and homeschool advocate with a doctorate in education and master’s degrees in history and anthropology. A longtime proponent of liberty-minded, classical education, Deanna has also been engaged with the Bitcoin movement for many years. She is the author of "Shells to Satoshi: The Story of Money and the Rise of Bitcoin," which explores the evolution of money and Bitcoin from both historical and anthropological perspectives. Deanna is writing children’s books on these subjects as well. Since moving to El Salvador in 2023 to live on a Bitcoin standard, she has consulted with Bitcoin Beach, helping to launch the first Bitcoin Circular Economy Summit and developing the ABCs of Bitcoin curriculum. Deanna is currently focused on expanding awareness
of how circular economies advance Bitcoin adoption and individual sovereignty worldwide.

With over 25 years of experience in technology, he brings a deep understanding of how innovative tools can enhance human creativity and productivity. He is the co-author of Shells to Satoshi: The Story of Money and the Rise of Bitcoin, exploring the evolution of money from ancient times to the digital age. Joel has spoken on Bitcoin education at the Learning Bitcoin conference in Vancouver BC and hosts the Author's Corner talks at Adopting Bitcoin, where he interviews authors exploring Bitcoin's cultural and intellectual impact. His work bridges technology, education, and storytelling, helping people understand and engage with transformative ideas.
