In recent years, the position of content creators is becoming gradually important, as a role model, in the digital space, as they have turned into one of the cornerstones of online platforms and an important tool to ensure their economic sustainability thanks to their role in enhancing the ability to attract users and influence them.
There is no doubt about the capacity of content creators to influence the opinions and behaviors of individuals.
This session will provide an overview regarding the content creators in the MENA region and assess to what extent the contentthey are producing is respectful to HR.
Speakers from different backgrounds will present and discuss how online platforms and content creators are mutually benefiting from one another. How can content creators produce content that promotes and defends human rights?
We will debate the role of online platforms in enhancing the human rights culture among content creators through their policies and algorithms.
We also aim to discuss ways to support the role of content creators in the field of human rights by producing content that respects human rights principles and encourages others to respect and protect these universal rights.
We will discuss also the impact of new legislations in the MENA region, related to media or fake news or cybercrimes or other laws, and their impact on the role of content creators and how we can reduce their negative impacts on freedom of expression in general.
يناقش مشاركون من خلفيّات ووجهات نظر مختلفة كيفية استفادة المنصّات الإلكترونية وصانعي المحتوى من بعضهم البعض، بالإضافة إلى دور صانعي المحتوى في نشر مبادئ حقوق الإنسان أو الامتناع عن إنتاج محتوى يضر بها. ستسلّط الجلسة أيضاً الضوء على دور المنصات في تعزيز ثقافة حقوق الإنسان من خلال سياساتها وخوارزمياتها.
تتضمّن الجلسة أيضاً نقاشاً حول سبل دعم صانعي المحتوى في مجال حقوق الإنسان، من خلال إنتاج محتوى يحترم مبادئ حقوق الإنسان ويشجع الآخرين على احترامها وحمايتها.
علاوة على ذلك، سوف نمرّ على التشريعات الجديدة المتعلقة بالإعلام أو الأخبار الكاذبة أو الجرائم الإلكترونية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، وتأثيرها على دور صانعي المحتوى، وإمكانية الحد من آثارها السلبيّة على حرية التعبيّر بشكل عام.
