She is a senior researcher at ARTICLE 19 focusing on the Middle East and North African (MENA) human rights issues and international corporate responsibility.
She is also an Affiliate at the Berkman Klein Centre (BKC) at Harvard and an advisor at the Cyberlaw Clinic at Harvard. She was also a 2021-2022 fellow with the Technology and Public Purpose (TAPP) at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs where she created the concept report on her Design From the Margins framework: looking at creating safer, and more privacy enhancing technologies with the decentered.

Alexandrine is Director of Strategy at Privacy International. She manages and oversees the development and delivery of Privacy International's strategic portfolio aimed at ensuring that innovative solutions serve individual and communities and protection their dignity rather than state power and corporate interest. This portfolio explores issues of digital identity, protecting communities at risk online, the digitisation of access to economic, social and cultural rights, and the use of data and technology in immigration enforcement control and border management.

Previously, she was engaged in research and advocacy on issues relating to human rights, irregular migration, Security Sector Reform (SSR), gender, conflict management, and human security. Alexandrine graduated from the University of Birmingham with an MSc in Conflict, Security and Development following an LLM in International Law at the University of Westminster following and BA in Law with International Relations from Oxford Brookes University.

Asmaa is the Fund’s MENA program director. She has joined the Fund in January 2016 as the Program Officer for North Africa. Prior to this, she worked with the Human Rights National Council in Morroco as Advisor to the president on youth and civil society and held the position of Deputy coordinator of the national human rights action plan within the Human rights information, documentation, and training center. From 2004 to 2006, she worked with the Moroccan Equity and Reconciliation Commission as the head of the Documentation and Records Management Unit. In addition, Asmaa also worked with several human rights organizations in Morocco. Asmaa holds a bachelor's degree in Information Sciences from the school of information sciences in Rabat and a Masters in Human rights from the University of Essex in the UK. She speaks French, Arabic, and English.

Passionate about politics in a data-driven society, he previously worked with I Watch Organization, the Tunisian section of Transparency International, as their IT & Communication Manager before joining the National Democratic Institute as a Parliament and Political Affairs Officer. Chérif strongly believes that technology and today’s politics are heavily interconnected, making the protection of digital rights in public policies’ design and implementation both a legal and technological challenge.

Cosette Maalouf, born in Lebanon in 1983, is currently a freelance Mental health expert and psychosocial and gender trainer, also a psychological consular for journalists suffering from Trauma. was a master trainer with IREX, she trains journalists on Self-care and Psychosocial support, was formerly the Regional Mental Health Program Coordinator, and a Trainer at The Arab Resource Collective (ARC). She managed the regional program of activities while being responsible for its planning and implementation. She also designed and delivered sessions on psychosocial support and mental health. She beholds a Masters's degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology delivered by Université Saint-Joseph (USJ). At ARC, she was also a supervisor for a study conducted by YALE University in Beirut for 2 years, also participated in the design and data collection of one of ARC’s parenting programme HEPPP (health, education, and protection parenting programme). Cosette Maalouf also works as an Advocacy and Communication Coordinator at Proud Lebanon, a Lebanese NGO. She is responsible for communication with the media. She organizes regional workshops and supports the development of proposals for fundraising using the log frame approach while following up on the implementation of the different activities. As a psychologist, Cosette possesses a large board of technical skills she acquired while providing psychological support to parents and families, monitoring psychological group support, developing methods for students with special needs, and while working in prisons.

Dina/Joe (Pron. They/He/She) is a queer activist/ researcher, working on LGBTIQ+ Digital Safety and Security, as well as independent researches and articles concerning cyber cultures. They have previously held the position of Holistic Safety and security officer at Mesahat Foundation for Sexual and Gender Diversity (Egypt and Sudan) and currently is working independently, and with other organization with the aim of raising awareness and support related to cyber security. They are avid coffee drinkers, with an appetite for long discussions on feminism, mobilization, cyber cultures, poetry and design.

Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). I have been working with UNAMI for more than 16 years.
I worked on several human rights issues such as the protection of civilians in armed conflicts, minority
rights, freedom of expressions, freedom of peaceful assembly freedom of journalism in Iraq. worked on
documenting and reporting the violations against journalists, bloggers, activists and HRDs specially in
and after the October 2019 mass anti-government demonstrations.
I also work on the promotion of human rights via several campaigns, advocacies and projects to
disseminate the culture of human rights. those activities aimed at integrating and disseminating human
rights through art work, short film festivals and street murals. The last was working on the project of
digital security and digital rights project for HRDs and activists. After finalizing the first phase of the
project successfully although, most it was online due to COVID, we started to implement the second
phase of the project by holding in-person training workshops in several governorates in Iraq. In our
project, in its two phases, we tried to raise the awareness and knowledge of the activists and HRDs of
their rights online which are and should be equal to their rights offline.

Khaled Mansour is a writer and communication expert with many years of experience at the United Nations and as a foreign correspondent. As a journalist and then a UN spokesperson, he worked for years in conflict and transitional situations such as in South Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and the Sudan in addition to his work on US politics in Washington DC in the 1990s and at the UN headquarters in New York. Mays has been working for Center for Defending Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ) since 2016. In June 2016 she worked as a project coordinator for CDFJ until January 2018, and from January 2018 until August 2021 she served as an international relations and advocacy officer for CDFJ. In September 2021, she was upgraded and becomes the Programs Manager for CDFJ.
Between June 2014 and April 2016, she interned with Penal Reform International MENA office in Amman. During this internship program, she gained good knowledge in providing logistical support for organizing conferences and big events. She has also gained a good knowledge in collecting data for research studies and in-depth reports. In 2015, she was selected from the Panel Reform International regional office to intern in Panel Reform International Headquarter Office based in the UK-London for 2 months, and when she finished the internship program in London, she returned she was assigned to the Unit of Advocacy and Funding in the MENA region office.
Mays has advanced knowledge and experience in leading long-term and sensitive programs in a challenging environment and in building long-lasting relationships with international donors, civil society organizations and government stakeholders. She has also a proven track records in networking and advocacy, and in coordinating joint initiatives and actions with media organizations and journalists in the MENA region. Mays has good experience in international human rights law, humanitarian and human rights system in the MENA region.

Over the last 5 years,Yomna has been training & coaching community leaders and organizers from Egypt, India, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and other countries. and as a teaching fellow with Ahel She worked with organizers from the Middle East empowering them with leadership tools to achieve the change they seek for their organizations, countries & the whole world.
Now, she is working with Ahel as the program manager of Athar Network for the Arab Organizers, leading more than 100 members of the network with the vision of building faith in people power & their ability to make change.

Yosr Jouini is a North Africa-based consultant and researcher at the intersection between technology, media, and society. She leads research work at Technoloxia, a policy center that focuses on regional digital transformation. Yosr also hosts the Digitally Yours podcast, a podcast specializing in digital rights.
In 2020, Yosr was laureate of the Lina Ben Mhenni Prize for freedom of expression.

Zak Rogoff is a research manager at Ranking Digital Rights. He works for an internet that truly serves the interests of everyone, and he believes the human rights framework is the best way to get there.

Rogoff has appeared on Al Jazeera and had writing and quotations published in outlets from Motherboard to the scientific journal Nature. Before becoming a researcher, Rogoff worked as a digital rights campaigner. At Access Now, he campaigned against internet shutdowns with a global coalition. Before that, he fought to maintain the security and openness of the technology underlying the web, leading campaigns at the Free Software Foundation. He has also worked to rein in government surveillance as a campaigner at U.S.-based Fight for the Future and a research fellow at the Chilean NGO Derechos Digitales.

محمد فرحات

Mohamed Farahat is an Egyptian based legal practitioner, trainer, political, and legal researcher. Mr. Farahat is a member of bord of directors - Innovation for Change Middle East and North Africa MENA Hub, Management Advisory Group (MAG) vice chairman and member at North Africa Internet Governance (NAIGF), member of African Digital Rights Network (ADRN), North Africa Representative at E-Governance and Internet Governance Foundation for Africa (EGIGFA), and African ICT Foundation’s Focal Point Representative for Egypt. He was a member of the steering committee of Internet Rights and Principles Coalition (IRPC). Mr. Farahat was guest speaker, organizer, and attendee of about 30 conferences and workshops on national, regional and global level that covered topics related to digital rights, refugees’ issues and statelessness. He was research fellow and later as digital rights consultant with International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA). Mr. Farahat was Researcher and Analyst, collaborative research project- and co-author in report on internet law surveillance in Africa -The Institute of Development Studies (IDS)- at the University of Sussex Digital Rights Landscape Reports, research leader with African Digital Rights Hub (ADRH) in project about data protection in Africa, and Co-author with Paradigm Initiative about digital rights report in Africa. Academically, Mr. Farahat holds a degree in Law from Cairo University and several post-graduate diplomas in international law, Human Rights and civil society, International Negotiation, African Studies-politics division, Parliamentary Studies. Currently, he is a master’s degree researcher in African Studies and MA student –Migration and refugees’ studies –American university in Cairo-AUC.
