AI: Open source will save us!
2024-06-14 , E105 (capacity 70)

It's important for open source to embrace AI and lead the way for responsible AI. We need to fight for a future where AI is not controlled by a few richly-resourced corporations with massive infrastructures and we have no control over AI black boxes that we anticipate will increasingly impact humanity. Part of this open source AI effort will require enabling the training and fine-tuning and running of AI on local user systems, essential for data privacy and the ability to modify the technology.

In this talk, you will learn about the new open source AI project "InstructLab" and a novel approach to align a model that have incredible potential to enable truly open source AI technology. We will talk about related projects, tooling, and demonstrating an end-to-end developer workflow.

AI is at a critical inflection point in technology and is moving incredibly fast. Get up-to-date all in one talk and learn the open source tools you should be keeping an eye on now!
