MozFest 2022

Cities for Digital Rights Helpdesk & Governance Framework
Language: English (mozilla)

During Mozfest 2020 the CC4DR hosted a session on the concept of a Digital Rights Helpdesk for Cities. One year later, this has evolved into a full planned project that kicks off in 2022, with a first version of a digital rights framework, open for feedback. The project is now also in search for advisors/experts who can assist the cities in their questions.

What is the goal and/or outcome of your session?:

To inspire the Mozfest community with tangible outcomes of Mozfest; a session from last year has lead to actual progress. Th goal is to report back to the community and where possible re-engage them in next steps: 1. Giving Feedback on the Framework 2. Sign up as an advisor.

Why did you choose that space? How does your session align with the space description?:

The power dynamics in democraties cities are never similar. citizens and governments need to colloborate but also democratically function in a digital world.

How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session? What if 30 participants attend? What if there are 3?:

The information will be as valuable to 3 as to 30 participants. in this 7 minute lightning talk that will be enough. Q&As are possible in both sessions

What happens after MozFest? We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after MozFest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:
  1. Feedback o nthe framework
  2. become an advisor for the helpdesk
What language would you like to host your session in?:
