Decide how life should be in the Metaverse before the Metaverse decides for you.
"Metaverse" is a buzzword you have probably heard by now. However, with all the hype, would the Metaverse really turn out to be what we are expecting? With the possibility of living whatever kind of life we want in the Metaverse, would the experience in Metaverse be more inclusive and comparatively better than the physical world? Or would it turn into a space that breeds more sexism, racism, inequalities and other social illnesses with the stripping of morality and boundaries?
As citizens of the new world of the internet, be amongst the firsts to discuss the many important questions that surround the Metaverse before we are drowned by the tides of change. We will discuss the nature of this new reality, digital justice and morality, as well as the changes in modes of living and knowing the Metaverse can bring.
Join us, be ready for this new technological evolution with an instrument that has persisted even before the technological age, philosophy.
The goal is to increase awareness and encourage discussion about philosophy of web and youth involvement in digital society (digital citizenship).
Why did you choose that space? How does your session align with the space description?:The reason for choosing the space is that digital literacy is a crucial foundation to building holistic digital citizenship that would facilitate an individual's productive participation in the digital world. As such it is necessary for more awareness to be given about the way studying philosophy must change to accommodate the Web. A main reason is also because the prospective workshop facilitators will all be youths themselves, and intend on leading the youth narrative on these focus areas.
How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session? What if 30 participants attend? What if there are 3?:Fewer participants would mean that facilitators have more opportunities to address all questions/increase 1:1 attendee engagement. With more participants, attendee engagement would shift more to the initiative of the participant. We would also dedicate a facilitator to chat moderation to cater to participants that might prefer using chat over voice during the event.
What happens after MozFest? We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after MozFest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:From the workshop, the facilitators might want to work on creating social media output from the discussions (blog posts) as well as maybe look into increasing representation of philosophy-oriented speakers for future internet-related events.
What language would you like to host your session in?:English
