Language: English (mozilla)

Welcome to Part 1 of our Series on 'The Grand MozFest Web Monetization Experiment'.

Join us in learning about and discovering how you can participate in the Grand MozFest Web Monetization Experiment at MozFest 2022. In this introductory session to the experiment, we will explore what the Web Monetization Standard is, the philosophies behind it in building towards a more equitable web, the basics to how it works, the opportunities it presents and current challenges that it faces.

This session is being livestreamed and can be viewed from the main page of the MozFest Plaza.

What is the goal and/or outcome of your session?:

To introduce the MozFest community to the Grand MozFest Web Monetization Experiment at MozFest 2022, as well as to the Web Monetization Standard.

How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session? What if 30 participants attend? What if there are 3?:

Over the years, I have facilitated session with anywhere from 3 people to 1500. I am content and can adapt to either scenario. I am just happy to share and give participants a nudge as they begin to explore and experiment with the possibilities that the Web Monetization Standard presents.

What happens after MozFest? We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after MozFest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:

We are setting up some asynchronous learning around Web Monetization on MozFest's different platforms for attendees to learn from after the Festival, along with setting up Web Monetized galleries for attendees to enjoy the Web Monetized resources and assets shared at MozFest 2022. In addition, the attendees will be invited to be a part of the Web Monetization Community Forem to learn from and engage with other Web Monetized creatives, and discover future opportunities with Grant for the Web.

What language would you like to host your session in?:
