Orbits is field guide to intersectional, survivor-centric and trauma-informed interventions to technology-facilitated gender-based violence. Produced over the course of 2020 by Chayn and End Cyber Abuse, the guide focuses on interventions in research, technology design and policy.
At MozFest 2020, we ran a workshop to generate ideas for the guide, and since then we've developed and co-created the guide with input from practitioners and experts from around the world. In this session, we'll share the final guide and lead a discussion on how we can implement it's suggestions to end tech-facilitated gender-based violence.
The goal of this session is to share the findings and suggestions of the Orbits field guide on tech-facilitated gender-based violence, and mobilise MozFest participants to read, share and use the guide. The session will give a thorough introduction to the guide and how researchers, policy makers and designers can use it, and include a discussion to answer any questions and generate further ideas for putting the guide's suggestions into practice. We hope for the session to increase the reach and impact of Orbits!
¿Por qué has elegido ese espacio? ¿Cómo se ajusta tu sesión a la descripción del espacio?:This space completely aligns with Orbits. Orbits is about securing gender justice in technology through ending tech-facilitated-gender based violence, and advocating trauma-informed design to build a feminist future for the internet and technology. Orbits explicitly takes an intersectional approach, and demonstrates what intersectionality looks like in practice in technology design, policy making and research.
¿Cómo vas a hacer frente si varía el número de participantes en tu sesión? ¿Y si asisten 30 participantes? ¿Y si son 3?:Chayn is experienced at dealing with varying numbers of participants at our workshops and events - while developing Orbits we've hosted workshops as big as 50 people and as small as 3! We will design the session to be an interactive discussion where everyone has a chance to input, but will ensure we have enough content to fill the session if the numbers. are smaller.
¿Qué pasará después del MozFest? Esperamos que muchos esfuerzos y discusiones continúen después de MozFest. Comparte cualquier idea que tengas sobre cómo continuar el trabajo de tu sesión.:We hope to work with participants after the session to share and use the guide. We are looking to set up a community of practice on trauma-informed design and will also share details of how participants can get involved with that.
