The goal of the event is to foster a meaningful dialogue on how to decolonize the development, usage, and understanding of AI. AI is being deployed and adopted globally however, there needs to be more AI research by individuals and groups outside the Western world.
Some of our space facilitators will host lightning talks to raise awareness on their sessions during the festival.
We have a Miro Board too. This will be one of the outcomes for the Decolonized AI Futures space. Kindly join us on the Miro board to share your thoughts, comments, and ideas. Using your preferred format (text, images, gif, video sticker, emoji, etc), we invite you to share a response to the following prompt questions on the board.
- With AI systems embedding Western values by default, how can more diverse peoples and values change the future of AI?
- How does this impact our lives around the world?
- How can the global majority be equally included in AI policy and consumption?
- Convening MozFest participants to discuss a particular subject. (what they understand by decolonized AI)
- Enabling the Decolonized AI Futures space session facilitators to host lightning talks about their session in order to raise awareness of the session among the MozFest participants. Some individuals who were unable to have their sessions accepted to the space may also be allowed to offer a lightning talk.
- Engaging the MozFest participants in fun activities/games to foster networking in the space
This session acts like a Day Zero event for the space. The space facilitators are given the opportunity to briefly talk about their sessions in order to raise awareness about the session among the MozFest participants.
¿Cómo vas a hacer frente si varía el número de participantes en tu sesión? ¿Y si asisten 30 participantes? ¿Y si son 3?:A small group of participants will engage in deeper real-time conversations on the session goals. A large group of participants will leverage collaboration tools such as Miro and Google docs, to share their inputs to the space.
