Call for papers 2026
Open Source Experience offers around 100 presentation slots in the program.
Presentation format:
Only one presentation format is available: 20-minute talks featuring one to two speakers maximum.
However, you may propose a 45-minute panel discussion if all speakers are from different organizations (5 speakers max.).
Please ensure diversity and representativeness in your panels!
Submission Guidelines
Each presenter may submit a maximum of 3 proposals.
Once your proposal has been submitted, you may add additional information until the Call for Papers closes (but no substantial changes to the content).
Speakers whose native language is French are invited to submit in French; other speakers are invited to submit in English.
To ensure a diversity of perspectives in the program, we are limiting the number of selected talks per organization (excluding sponsored talks).
Expected Presentation Content
Open source is no longer an option; it is now one of the main tools Europe has at its disposal to build a digital ecosystem that is sovereign, ethical, sustainable, and truly under its own control—provided we have the courage to direct our choices and budgets in that direction.
With this in mind, the program for this sixth edition revolves around the central theme: “Open Source in Action.” No abstract concepts, but concrete choices where each talk addresses a real-world problem and demonstrates how open source provides a credible, deployed, and measurable solution.
The program will therefore focus on:
- use cases,
- feedback centered on the challenges faced by users and how they were addressed,
- live demos,
- customer testimonials,
- concrete metrics,
by giving a voice to a diverse range of perspectives: CIOs, decision-makers, communities, developers, educators, startups, and large corporations.
Presentations by client-vendor pairs are welcome. Proposals involving the client will receive special consideration.
Innovative perspectives from speakers recognized for their expertise are also encouraged.
The program chair’s editorial, “Open source is no longer an option,” is available here:

Presentation Guidelines | Keep these guidelines in mind
Craft your title carefully
Choose a clear and compelling title that reflects the problem you’re addressing and the solution or perspective you’re offering. Your topic should spark curiosity and immediately make people want to learn more. We need to immediately understand the problem-solution connection. Craft your titles from the perspective of the CIO or decision-maker. For example: “Is your cloud too expensive?” rather than “Heavy user of cloud OS”
Do not include any sales pitches.
If you are a vendor and wish to present your solution exclusively, we recommend signing up for a sponsored workshop.

Stay up to date with current events.
We encourage you to suggest topics that shed light on current and future issues and challenges. Think about the topics that will be making headlines tomorrow.
Provide detailed information about your submission.
No matter how knowledgeable the program committee may be, it cannot be familiar with every open-source project and solution out there. It is important to provide a sufficiently detailed description of the project and to specify the licenses. Feel free to include sources and links.
Describe the flow of your proposed presentation.
Be as clear and precise as possible about the nature of your presentation. In addition to introducing the project that is the subject of your proposal, be sure to specify the aspects you wish to highlight during your presentation, whether they are technical, functional, organizational, or otherwise. Feel free to suggest an outline that describes the different parts of your presentation.
For all levels.
Feel free to propose talks aimed at a non-technical audience. Open Source Experience also seeks to support visitors who are new to open source.
Even if you have no experience speaking at conferences, please feel free to submit a proposal. If your proposal is selected, we will support you in preparing for your talk.
Important Dates
You can submit proposals until June 14, 2026, at 11:59 PM (UTC).
