Eligibility

To be eligible for financial aid, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must reside a significant distance from the conference venue, resulting in substantial travel and accommodation expenses.
  • You must demonstrate financial need.

Funding Amount

The amount of financial aid awarded will vary depending on your individual circumstances. However, as a general guideline, we anticipate providing:

  • Domestic Participants: Up to 50,000 yen to cover the full cost of travel and accommodation.
  • International Participants: Up to 200,000 yen to cover the full cost of travel and accommodation.

Please note that any expenses exceeding the respective limits will be the responsibility of the participant.

Number of Recipients

We anticipate awarding financial aid to a limited number of participants (approximately 5 domestic and 10 international recipients). In the event of a high volume of applications, we will prioritize requests from students and those residing further from the venue. We may also adjust the number of recipients based on available funds and other considerations.

Examples of Supported Cases

  • Current students attending from a remote location
  • Speakers for talks or poster sessions traveling from afar
  • Individuals actively involved in local Python communities
  • Remote participants attending the entire conference, including the three-day development sprint

Important Notes

  • Financial aid does not cover expenses other than travel, accommodation, and conference registration fees, such as meals during PyCon JP 2025.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 must obtain parental or guardian consent.
  • Detailed reimbursement procedures will be provided separately to successful applicants.
  • note: The travel grant does not cover the cost of conference registration.
