Call for proposals - PyConES Sevilla 2025

This year PyConES will be celebrated in Sevilla from October 17th to 19th.

The call for proposals (C4P) will be open until Sunday, June 15, 2025.

We are looking for a variety of talks on technical and non-technical topics. We are looking for talks or proposals with different levels of complexity, both from less experienced professionals and from leaders in their field.

If you're wondering if you can do this, the answer is yes. If you have a topic that interests you, then we are interested too!

Recommendations for your proposal

It is important that you present your idea in a clear way, giving the necessary information for those who will review it to fully understand your proposal.

If you have never spoken in public before, presenting a proposal that reflects all the details of your idea can be confusing or challenging. If you need help preparing your proposal, you can email charlas@2025.es.pycon.org so the mentoring team can help you with your questions or to review your proposal.

Structure of your proposal

As an example, you can use this simple structure as a reference:

  • Context
  • Problem definition
  • How your proposal contributes to solving the problem
  • What you have learned during the process
  • Difficulty level (basic, intermediate or advanced)
  • Target audience

Avoid repeating yourself, do not be redundant. If the idea or theme is already clear in the title, there is no need to repeat it in the summary. Try to include factors that make your proposal special and unique, avoid sensationalist headlines and phrases that try to create hype without adding real value to the content.

Types of proposals

  • Talks: 30 minutes + 5 minutes of questions and answers.
  • Workshops: up to 90 minutes + 15 minutes for final presentation or discussion.

If your workshop lasts more or less time than planned, do not hesitate to let the organization know so that it can be taken into account in the program schedule. This will provide the opportunity to create a more diverse agenda within the three days of the conference.

To give you some advice, some proposals that tend to be very popular around here are those that:

  • Have a social focus, seeking to provide something positive to the community or society.
  • Are transversal, with an impact on different fields or professional areas.
  • Are inspirational, dealing with your experience with Python and how it has positively influenced in your personal life or professional career.

Topics

Topics are open as long as they are directly related to Python.

As an idea, you can talk about:

  • Web Development
  • Analysis, Engineering and Data Science
  • DevOps / SRE / System Administration
  • Education
  • Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence
  • Desktop Applications
  • Internet of Things
  • Security and Networking
  • Mobile applications, multimedia and embedded and ubiquitous systems
  • Community, society and culture

Additional considerations

  • It is possible to send more than one proposal per person.
  • We do accept talks with several people as speakers.
  • You will be notified whether or not your proposal has been accepted.
  • Proposals are welcome in both English and Spanish.

Selection criteria

Proposals will be evaluated jointly by the event organizing team and members of the Python Spain association.

The distribution of talks by topic will be uniform to avoid any of them having more prominence than the rest. The evaluation criteria will be, among others, its originality, the correct structuring of its content, the relevance of the proposed topic and the adequacy to our conference.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to write to charlas@2025.es.pycon.org.

Thank you very much!

You can enter proposals until 2025-06-15 23:59 (Europe/Madrid), 2 days, 7 hours from now.
