We are now accepting talk proposals for PyCon JP 2026.
Whether you are a seasoned speaker or a first-timer, you are welcome. We want to hear about your experience, your perspective, and what you want to share with the community.
Important Notice
- Each person may submit up to 2 proposals. Any submissions beyond the second will not be reviewed.
Call for Talks
We are calling for 30-minute talks, the main content of PyCon JP 2026. Presentations may be given in either English or Japanese.
What PyCon JP 2026 Values
At PyCon JP 2026, we value proposals that convey why you are the right person to give this talk, in this place.
If the goal were simply to share information, a blog post or video would suffice. But a conference brings speakers and attendees together in the same room — and that creates opportunities to exchange ideas, deepen understanding, and spark new connections.
That is why we would like your proposal to tell us:
- How you have been involved with this topic
- What you have learned or discovered through your own experience
- What questions or discussions you would like to have with attendees
You are welcome to use AI tools when preparing your proposal. What matters most, however, is not the polish of the text, but your own experience, perspective, and reason for wanting to speak here.
Review Criteria
Every year, we receive more proposals than the number of available slots. Since not all can be accepted, PyCon JP takes responsibility for reviewing and selecting them. Reviews are conducted based on the following criteria. Please use these as a reference when applying.
- Firsthand experience: Is the content based on the speaker's own concrete experience?
- Originality: Does the proposal offer perspectives or insights beyond what is already available in existing documentation or blog posts?
- Clarity: Are the content and goals of the talk communicated clearly?
- Interactivity: Does the proposal demonstrate awareness of the value of presenting in person? Does it show consideration for discussion and engagement with attendees?
- Relevance: Is the content valuable to the Python community?
If you are curious about what kinds of proposals get accepted, please check the presentations from previous PyCon JPs (e.g., presentations from 2025: https://2025.pycon.jp/ja/timetable).
Proposals are welcome regardless of experience level, from introductory to advanced topics. Please do not hesitate to apply just because you feel inexperienced. Attendees come from a wide range of backgrounds, and there will surely be someone interested in what you have to share.

FAQ
Q: How many proposals can I submit?
A: You may submit up to 2 proposals. Any submissions beyond the second will not be reviewed. Please submit each as a separate proposal.
Q: Do I need to write my proposal in both Japanese and English?
A: Either language is fine. If translation is needed for the review process, the organizing team will handle it.
Q: Are there any requirements for the language of presentation slides if accepted?
A: There are no specific requirements. However, since this is an international conference, we recommend including English slides alongside Japanese presentations to accommodate a wider audience.

A: No, it does not. Proposal review and Travel Grant decisions are made independently.
