In the future, remote work will enable people to surpass the geographic and political boundaries and encourage mobility. COVID-19 lockdowns accelerated the transition which was already underway. The transition to remote work provides many opportunities for the improvement of people’s lives, but it also poses certain threats to workers’ rights. In order for the transition to occur fairly and justly for the laborers, certain expectations for human rights need to be established early in the process.

Maida Salkanovic is Human Resources Officer at the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED). Her background includes working as a journalist and researcher focusing on Southeast Europe. She has MA in Human Rights and BA in Psychology.
Łukasz Niparko is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science (University of Nebraska at Lincoln) and a human rights advocate. He is an alumnus of the United World College. He served with various NGOs, including the ACLU, Humanity In Action, and Polish Humanitarian Action.
The founder of Alleverse Non-formal Education - a social start-up focused on soft skills development. She is a non-formal education trainer and educator, she cooperated with Polish Migration Forum and Immigration Museum in Sao Paulo (Brazil).
